Fayette and Coweta Counties have some of the best schools in the state. Fayette, Coweta, and Henry Counties have many houses on large lots. In addition they have many cluster communities within these Counties on 1/3 acre lots.

Peachtree City, located in Fayette County is a master planned community and feature golf cart trails and a tranquil natural environment as several of its many desirable amenities.

They also have excellent schools and many recreational facilities. It has been voted as one of the top cities in the U.S. by a number of publications.

For those who like the lake lifestyle "The Canoe Club" in Fayette County is a picturesque community with many amenities and two beautiful lakes.

Lake Redwine is another beautiful development--located just north of Newnan--in Coweta County.

Many of the subdivisions of Atlanta homes on the south side were farmland less than twenty years ago. Atlanta’s growth in the nineties fueled many of these communities.

In Coweta County you will find Lake Redwine Plantation which is a beautiful development with amenities that will keep you busy.

In general homes on the South side are not as pricey as those on the North side.

Quality restaurants and entertainment is not readily available on the South side as it is on the North side, but there has been some improvement in recent years.

You will have a harder time finding a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Harry’ s Market or Fresh Market on the South side.

However, a Fresh Market opened in March of 2011 in Peachtree City. 

Sprouts Farmers Market opened in summer 2016, also in Peachtree City.

Nor is the best quality restaurants such as those found in Buckhead and other North side communities present in great numbers.


However, Frank's at The Old Mill in Fayetteville offers a delicious menu and is only a short drive away and is fast becoming a South Side favorite!

The "Pecan" Restaurant in College Park—is also a Southside favorite!

Therefore if you like to eat out often at quality restaurants or shop at top of the line grocers and other high end retail establishments the South Side may not be your best choice.

If, unless you like to drive twenty plus miles and put up with the traffic as it is getting progressively worse with all the growth over the past twenty plus years.

The good news is that in many areas of the south side—it is far less congested than that on the North side—and you can have somewhat more peace and tranquility by purchasing in certain areas on the South Side.

Hartsfield/Jackson International Airport is also within close proximity if you live in the South Atlanta area. You can go to most world destinations from this airport and it has been voted the World's busiest for a number of years.

To find a South Atlanta home that you will be proud to own you must consider not only the location but also the educational services and potential resale value.  In a sense they go hand in hand as the top schools normally will enhance the resale value of your home in most cases.

Choose top-ranked schools for better education for your children and appreciating resale value when you decide to move.

Rarely does a home purchaser remain in a home over 10 years, therefore it is imperative that you choose your home correctly and keep resale in mind at the time of purchase—not after you purchase.
